2008 Association Home
Unique 2008 Parade of Homes Association Home Underway
The 2008 Parade of Homes Association Home is underway. The lot has been purchased and the final approval from the Historic Resource Commission is underway. This very unique project will consist of a bungalow
style home in West End.
Richard Alexander, Richard Alexander Custom Homes,
Inc., has selected a practical craftsman style floor plan. The
lot being in a Historic Overlay district will utilize approved
materials on the exterior, such as fiber cement siding, cedar
shakes siding and SDL aluminum clad windows. The interior
finish will be high-level in keeping with the historic nature of
the location. The basement will be finished with a bedroom,
bathroom, family room and exercise room. There will be offstreet
parking in the rear courtyard.
Clare Fader, of Leonard Ryden Burr Real Estate,
will market the home. The intent of this home is to provide
consumers with a new home, built to look as though it is
original to the neighborhood. A front porch will complement
this main-level master bedroom plan along with a rear screen
porch. The home being built at 605 Jersey Avenue will be listed
for $430,000 which will be very attractive for those wanting to
live in an urban environment.

2004 Association Home
Last year's home, built by Tate Rice of Tate Rice Homes, Inc., is located in Salem Glen. The home was marketed by Ferrell Clay, Prudential Carolinas Realty, (336) 748-2000.
2004 Association Home Committee Chairperson
Zack Rothrock, Zack Rothrock Builders, Inc., announced
that this year’s Association Home built by Tate Rice of Tate
Rice Homes, Inc., will really woo the crowds during the
2004 Parade of Homes. The buzz will begin with the
gorgeous lot the 2004 Association Home is built on. The
views from both the front and rear of the home are
spectacular. The home features gracious living on one floor
with a lovely master suite, huge family room and well-appointed
kitchen to greet visitors. Although everyday
living will take place on the main floor, there is ample room
available in the daylight basement and the second story.
Tate Rice, his subcontractors and suppliers have built a very
special home that is chocked full of great features that will
appeal to the new homeowner and Parade visitors.
The home is located on lot 232 in the Winston
Downs neighborhood of Salem Glen. Ferrell Clay,
Prudential Carolinas Realty, is the listing agent and Tori
Boyson, also of Prudential Carolinas Realty, is the selling
agent. The response from HBA suppliers and subcontractors
to the request for proposals has been strong and we are most
appreciative of the many offers of discounts and donations
to assist with this important project. The home is under
contract and scheduled to close before November 1.
From its inception in 1987, the construction of the
Association Home has been an important annual project for
the HBA. It is a prestigious opportunity for association
members to showcase their goods and services to consumers
in our housing market. For more information on this project,
call Tate Rice at 712.1886, Zack Rothrock at 945.4039 or
Harry Weiler at 768.5942.
